The website is the digital presentation of the annual report of the Wyss Academy for Nature. To make the global activities at the intersection of science, policy, and practice tangible, the report was implemented as a data-rich, interactive platform based on Drupal.
Technical features
The technical implementation focuses on efficiently structuring multifaceted information in an engaging interface:
- Enterprise Content Management (Drupal):
Thanks to Drupal's robust architecture, complex content relationships – such as linking regional hubs (South America, East Africa, Southeast Asia) with specific research topics and milestones – are cleanly mapped. - Modular layout structure:
Through a component-oriented design (Paragraphs/Blocks), key figures, image galleries, and project updates are flexibly combined, ensuring readability across all devices and increasing the maintainability of the extensive content. - Multimedia storytelling:
The integration of interactive graphics and deeply nested menu structures allows users to intuitively navigate between global strategies and detailed case studies (such as agroforestry projects in Peru).
Purpose of the site
The platform serves as a transparent reporting tool for stakeholders and partners worldwide. The goal was to break away from the static nature of a traditional business report and replace it with a dynamic web application. By clearly separating content areas such as "Key Figures," "Hubs," and "Competence Centers," the path from overview to detail is shortened, digitally reflecting the Academy's mission – translating knowledge into action.
